All, several letters to read, I am looking at doing the meeting on 5th or 12th October. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN MAKE IT. I may have to do two! The trench volunteering is up to you but we could do it once a month as a group?
The orbat is a suggestion so please say if it suits you, I will explain each job in detail if you wish and the AGENDA is about the shed, say if you wish to add anything.
I would appreciate if I could have feed back by Wed 28th Sep so I can call the meeting.
The agenda will never be on the web site, the minutes can if you all wish.
Ladies and Gentlemen good day, Due to work commitments I have had to cancel the paintballing day, it is not cost effective to have Colin and Derek open up the site and also bring people in for a few, that’s not a problem we will re organise another more suitable date.
1. Tuesday 20th , we are going to meet at the llanddulas RBL and do the weeding on the memorial and may even have a go with our new strimmer on the graves, I will be going to Bodelwyddan castle for the “trench experience” and will bring back a brief which is also on THE VETS BOARD in the youthy. (we could all go and do the memorial another day? Please let me know.
2. Saturday 24th “Shed fest 2016” This is open to all men’s sheds and we have been invited, I have 15 bracelets for admission, hog roast, free food and music, they have asked if we want to put a stand up and numbers, it could give us more contacts and be a nice family day out in Denbigh.
8TH PAINTBALLING CANCELLED FOR NOW
17TH A MONDAY: SHED FEST CARDIFF, Derek has said he would like to go so we may do an overnight on Sunday and attend, any others welcome.
I need people to please let me know SOONEST if you wish to attend and could you please let me know if you are attending on a Wednesday as we are providing food which becomes a waste, you are under no pressure to attend but I have James house to look after and the youth centre along with all the mails that are coming in for the youthy and the vets so WEDNESDAY IS A LONG DAY FOR ME and have now missed two fitness sessions through admin.
I have 3 people now on the container case and no one has told me at what stage they are at and therefore I keep asking others to do the same as I don’t know guys.
Please let me know as a point of courtesy anything you can and or cant do or attend.
We had a substantial donation for the bungalow work and we have now procured a petrol strimmer, helmet and gloves from the donation so we can now keep the graves clean and tidy as well as our Glebe Land patch.
We need to start getting more active and pushing the cards out, there are people that need our help and we have good projects to get involved with, we also have many people who are being pro active to our shed and we need to reciprocate these kind offers of help guys.
Iwan, once again thanks for the computer work and if there is anything the shed can do for you please say, also look at previous mails sent, xmas dinner, James memorial night, cancer research ect ect.
We will have a formal meeting and a brockwurst night when Lynda returns with our pressies !!!
The funeral went well and the family are happy especially with our turn out and nice to see the change step contingent there.
Bungalow complete, new cards being printed, Lynda on her hols, have a nice time and never think of us here in Wales.
Ladies Lynda and gentlemen (don’t tell me off Lynda haha) we will be leaving my house at 0700 for a pick up at the pub 0710 and onto the church, we will be going through the tunnel not Runcorn! Vinny will be picked up by my sister 0800 for an RV at the church. BERETS, MEDALS OPTIONAL, I WONT BE WEARING MY MEDALS.
Danny did a great talk on the Welsh Regiments during the great war, excellent Dan and the scoff was great, (Lynda, I can feel that bratwurst mitt pomme frittes night coming soon mate).
Things are going forward at our pace, Dusty has sourced a crane this end and is looking at the pick up end for the container, fingers crossed this could come to fruition and our “shed” work shop may be operational October.
The bungalow has one more day to finish and thanks to Lynda, Degs, dave and Ray for their time even if we didn’t get a brew, my fault guys :( .
The web site is going great and I will meet Iwan to start running the site so thanks pal, our memorial and WW1 research is going well and will continue with the help of Wendy.
I have a letter for application for a grant with the police basically it want people who are asking to get involved in ASBO traits, my background is surveillance and there is tooooo much fly tipping and dog mess but all ideas are welcome, sooner rather than later please so I can start the process.
I need numbers before Wednesday September the 14th for number attending our day at the paintballing BBQ on the 8th of October, for obvious reasons, also Lynda is asking if we are interested in a Xmas dinner for vets, where when why what !!
The world will not stop revolving but the shed is evolving and thanks all for your help and patience.
Dear all, James funeral will be at OUR LADYQUEEN OF MARTYS CHURCH Stonebridge lane Croxteth L119AZ at 0930 then Anfield crematorium on priory road Walton at 1035 and onto Walton taxi sports and social club Walton lane. I will be leaving our club at 0730 to miss any problems on the A55 and will not be having a drink after, anyone wanting a lift please let me know and I should be back by 1330-1400 hrs that day.
I will not repeat things so I will just deal with what we are doing:
James Caveney has sadly passed away onto higher ground,
he will be sadly missed by all at the vets shed.

Dear all, the shed is going forward and at the right pace, (28 inches) our membership is increasing and more projects are coming to us. We have had lots of interest and businesses are asking questions to try and help, there is also interest from the council and local government bodies (more on that when we confirm). We have built a shed for a lady, cleaned the war memorial, painted a local sign, put up shower curtains and sports netting, located the soldiers graves in the cemetery, been allotted work on a local field for a long term project with the church, been asked to meet the community council to discuss projects such as the picnic benches near the club.
Martin starting our first project, that of shed building, quite apt for Veterans Shed.
Job, jobbed in 4 hours, not a bad effort!
